Untitled
Group Exhibition, ArtPrize, 2025
Untitled, 2025 explores identity and discovery through the use of alternative photography and abandoned poetry books.
By cutting each and every individual word from the abandoned books, the identity and story is removed and replaced by fragments of Caralyn's own Identify. The processes feels wrong, and brutal, yet intimate and surgical. The self portraits are unable to exist individually, and remain unclear when the fragments are puzzled together. Unlike Caralyn's past works, they have relinquished the need to preserve the past, and instead turns towards the present, which remains unclear and fragmented.
